My name is Miranda. It wasn't until after my son was born in December 2008 that I used my camera on a selection other than automatic. Giving birth to my son inspired me to capture moments relating to maternity and babies / children in a way no one could ever have imagined.
Bringing a child into the world is one of the most amazing experiences in life and I want to capture these special moments for you and your family.
I want to create custom portraits for you & your family, a piece of art made from your life, a wonderful memory which you can relive through your photographs.
To me, there is nothing more amazing than capturing family's as they truly are.. to freeze time and capture those special moments.. your newborns sleepy smile, a baby's fascination with their fingers and toes, the mischievous look in your toddlers eyes as they throw my props at me.
What To Expect
During our session you can expect a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I want you to feel at ease and enjoy yourself during our time together. I like to get to know my clients and capture their personalities. With families and children you can expect both posed and candid shots. I strive to capture spontaneous and natural expressions and emotion so the more fun the better.
Please expect to take breaks if infants and small children are involved. Infants often need breaks to nurse or feed and just get some love from mom and dad. Toddlers sometimes have meltdowns and don't want to co-operate. That's ok! This is expected with children and this is the norm with small children, I know I have one myself!
As a mother of one young boy (aged 19 months) I am very aware and concerned about the baby's and children's needs during the photo shoots. Should you need to feed, change or calm your baby/child, we simply stop the shoot and continue when the baby is happy again. There is no pressure for mom or baby and the shoot is extremely relaxed. I will work around you and your family to ensure that we can get the best possible images out of your session.
I use soft lighting which means the flash is not too bright and doesn't bother young babies or children.
I have a collection of fun props which we can include in your shoot. I will require approximately 2 weeks to edit after completing the shoot.
